The automotive wing of Chaudhary Group


Arun Intercontinental Traders (AIT), the automotive wing of Chaudhary Group, Nepal, and the authorized distributor of Suzuki Motors Corporation, Japan, and Maruti Udyog Ltd, India, has opened a new showroom for Maruti-Suzuki vehicles in Pulchowk of Lalitpur and also unveiled two new cars. In a statement issued Thursday, AIT says the showroom is "committed to providing sales, service and spares as a One Stop Shop." The two cars launched include the Swift DZIRE, a sedan version of Swift, and the new hatchback Suzuki A-Star. The statement, signed by AIT?s DGM-Automobiles Rajendra Agiwal, says the Swift DZIRE is a "new style statement among the other contemporary models of its kind." "It is just not just the design but the practicality and the price factor, which appeals to all our customers," the statement reads. The A-Star is offered in three variants: LXi, at Rs 1,699,125; VXi, at Rs 1,899,022; and ZXi at Rs 1,998,970. The A-Star is a city car?s 998 cc, three-cylinder, light weight all aluminum KB series engine delivers a maximum power of 67 bhp. It has a turning radius of 4.5 meters and ground clearance of 170 mm. AIT says the car has a fuel efficiency of 19.6 kilometers per liter. The A-Star is truly a green car with no compromises. The newest model meets the European ELV norms, which implies that 85 percent of the car is recyclable. The basic model, the A-Star LXi, will have an air-conditioning system and power steering. Additional features in the A-Star VXi include a CD and MP3 player, multi-function display and central locking. Meanwhile the A-Star ZXi will also have dual-airbags, Anti-Lock Breaking System (ABS), remote locking, fog lamps, input system and rear defogger. It is available in nine colors
